NEW DELHI: Chennai-based automaker, TVS Motors, on Wednesday launched its new flagship motorcycle – Apache RR 310. The bike has been priced at Rs 2.05 lakh (ex-showroom) which is very competitive as compared to the other options in the 300cc sports bike segment.
First showcased as the Akula 310 race bike concept at the 2016 Auto Expo, the TVS Apache RR 310 was one of the most awaited motorcycle in the Indian market. And the model which is going to hit the Indian roads now actually takes a lot from its concept model including the aerodynamic front fairing with a large windscreen. The fairing, however, gets some changes like addition of aggressive split headlamp with projector beams.
While the front silhouette is exactly similar to the concept model, the rear gets a lot of noticeable changes. The Apache RR 310 gets a sleek rear section with seating for two and an interesting LED tail lamp.
dIt shares the 312.2cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with the BMW G 310 R which is manufactured in India at TVS’ facility. The fuel injected motor comes mated to a six-speed gearbox and churns out 34PS at 9,700rpm and a peak torque of 27.3Nm at 7,700rpm.
Based on a trellis frame, the Apache RR 310 weighs 169.5kg and claims a 0-60kmph sprint time of just 2.93 seconds. The bike has a top speed of 160kmph.

The front gets berry inverted forks and the rear comes suspended on a monoshock with floating piston. Braking duties are handled by a 300mm front and a 240mm rear pearl disc brake, and a dual-channel antilock braking system (ABS) is also standard for safe stopping at any speed.
The TVS Apache RR 310 competed with the likes of the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Benelli 302R and the Yamaha R3 which is going to be re-launched soon.
